Sandals Resorts International was feted with a number of “best in category” accolades at the Annual TravelAge West WAVE Travel Awards.

This year, Sandals Resorts International (SRI), parent company of the Caribbean’s leading luxury all-inclusive resort brands Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts, and its Luxury Included® Resorts took home 5 awards, including the coveted Best All-Inclusive Hotel Chain, Caribbean, for Sandals Resorts and Best Hotel Brand for Families, Caribbean, for Beaches Resorts.

“Awards are always a tremendous honor, but these awards are made all the more special due to the travel advisor voting committee,” said Gary C. Sadler, Executive Vice President of Sales & Industry Relations for Unique Vacations, Inc. (UVI), an affiliate of the worldwide representative of Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts. “For more than 40 years, travel advisors have been our stalwart partners in our journey to excellence. And just as we’ve invested in our award-winning resorts, we’ve invested in them too- we succeed and grow together. Thank you again to the TravelAge West team and the entire travel advisor community for the incredible accolades.”

The gala event held on June 8, 2023, in Los Angeles, California, was attended by a number of UVI’s sales executives, including Garth Laird, Vice President of Trade Sales.

Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts were named winners in 5 distinct categories:

  • All-Inclusive Hotel/Resort Chain Providing the Best Travel Advisor Support – Sandals Resorts
  • Best All-Inclusive Hotel Chain, Caribbean – Sandals Resorts
  • Best New Resort or Major Renovation, Caribbean – Sandals Royal Curaçao
  • Best All-Inclusive Resort Brand for Romance, Caribbean – Sandals Resorts
  • Best Hotel Brand for Families, Caribbean – Beaches Resorts

Every year, the editorial team at TravelAge West, headed by Editor-in-Chief Ken Shapiro, reviews hundreds of travel suppliers and products through product analysis, on-site visits, a travel agent survey and online research. After careful consideration, a list of “Editor’s Pick” nominees, in a variety of categories are confirmed. Nominees are then placed on an official WAVE ballot, which is printed in the magazine, posted online and promoted in email communications to travel advisors throughout the United States.
